Domitia, wife of Domitian, 82-96. Lydia. Philadelphia. 1/3 Assarion (Bronze, 15 mm, 3.21 g, 6 h), struck under the magistrate Lagetas. ΔΟΜΙΤΙΑ ΑΥΓΟΥC[ΤΑ] Draped bust of Domitia to right, wearing an elaborate diadem and with her hair bound in a queue falling down behind. Rev. EΠΙ ΛΑΓΕ ΦΙΛΑΔEΛΦE-ΩΝ Bunch of grapes on stem. BMC 64-65. RPC II 1336. SNG Copenhagen 379. With a bold and rather unflattering portrait and an attractive brown patina. Nearly extremely fine.
